We source specialty-grade coffee grown, harvested, and processed by women — because although women make up the majority of the global coffee workforce, they receive far less recognition, ownership, and income. We think it’s time for that to change.

Our Coffee

​Our coffees meet high sourcing and quality standards. Before a coffee is even considered, we trace back to the original farms to ensure that the social impact of the coffee is positive, and the environmental impact is minimal. After that, coffees are taste-tested to ensure good quality, and a final selection are made available. Each bag of coffee comes with information about its crop, processes, adn the women who produced it.

Café Madre isn’t a charity or a social enterprise. We're a business with a passion for delivering coffee that does good, and tastes great. We pay a premium price for quality coffee, building direct relationships with producers and prioritising transparency in every step of the journey. Why "Café Madre"?

The name roughly translates to "Mother Coffee" — and in many coffee-growing regions, women are the backbones of both farms and families.

We want to connect conscious coffee lovers with the source of their brews, and understand the impact their choices can have; and to create space at the table — or coffee counter — for better ways of doing business.​
