ABOUT THE PRODUCERS

Grown in Jinotega,  a region where women hold only 15% of land titles, Aldea Co-operative strives to make a difference by providing an extra premium for coffee cultivated by women members of the cooperative. Sincerely named after mother earth,  Tierra Madre supports a cause that empowers women and fosters economic equality; and has seen women begin to take the legal ownership for their land that they are entitled to.

With Fair Trade certified beans from a farmer-led cooperative, Tierra Madre is both delicious and sustainable. As well as fair pay for excellent coffee, Aldea Co-operative supports producers with acess to credit and technology, to aid the devleopment of their own farming businesses.

Café Madre follows a simple ethos; great coffee, grown by women. Our coffees are all single-origin, specialty-grade,  and grown exclusively by women's cooperatives.  Each cup supports sustainable farming practices and community development. Roasted in small batches in the UK for maximum freshness. Choose between whole beans or ground for your brewing style.
